Man City stars surprise supporters – including Otamendi super fan – with series of personal visits

The whole squad met fans at home and at work on Monday, with Yaya Toure, Vincent Kompany, Sergio Aguero and more enjoying tea and biscuits

Manchester City ended the season with a bang by beating Watford 5-0 on Sunday and they kicked off their summer in some style, too.

The entire squad spent Monday mixing with fans across Manchester, whether playing beach football in the city centre, entertaining kids at a local school or personally delivering season tickets to supporters at work and at home.

Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure, Raheem Sterling and Vincent Kompany were among those who surprised supporters by handing over their tickets for the 2017-18 campaign.

The first team stars had tea and biscuits and, in the case of Sterling and Tosin Adarabioyo, tried their hand at knitting.

City’s Brazilian stars, meanwhile, played beach football, took selfies and handed out signed balls outside the football museum, while Aleksandar Kolarov and Bacary Sagna delivered a season ticket to a garage and Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Nolito visited a local school.

And there was a special surprise for one dedicated fan of centre-back Nicolas Otamendi.

The fan, known as @Beardamendi on Twitter, posted a video of the Argentine centre-back’s goal against Norwich City, scored on October 31 2015, every day until he scored again.

Toure wants to retire at Man City

Otamendi finally notched his second goal for the club against Crystal Palace earlier this month, 18 months later, leading to City marking the occasion by providing @Beardamendi with a signed shirt.

But they went one better on Monday by inviting the Twitter user onto the team bus to meet Otamendi himself.
