Teerasil Dangda, Kim Ho-Jun or Yu Kobayashi – Who should be the Asian Player of the Week?
This week saw intense action in the AFC Champions League 2017 with the first leg matches of the Round of 16 knockout stage taking place.
Among all the stellar performances that we saw, we have picked out three standout performers for the fans to deliberate upon and decide whose contribution was the best of the lot.
Our first candidate is the Toyota Player of the Week, Teerasil Dangda of Muangthong United. Though he ended up on the losing side, Dangda was fantastic for the Thai side and scored the opening goal of the game with a peach of a strike.
Our second candidate is Goal’s Player of the Week, Kim Ho-Jun of Jeju United. The South Korean goalkeeper was absolutely brilliant between the sticks, keeping a cleansheet against Urawa Red Diamonds in a 2-0 win and pulling off six saves in between.
Our final candidate for the honour is Japanese midfielder Yu Kobayashi, who put on a match-winning performance for Kawasaki Frontale after coming on a substitute in their 3-1 win over Muangthong United. He scored a goal and assisted another as the Japanese side gained a vital away win.
So, you have all the details. Now get voting and help us determine who came up with the most impressive performance in Asia this week. (If you’re unable to view the poll, click here)
